By using the Simply Giving option, you can easily manage your giving, set up recurring gifts, and track your giving throughout the year. You can always suspend or change your giving with the click of your mouse. These gifts are tracked for tax purposes.

You may also choose to make a one-time or recurring gift via PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to donate. These gifts are completely anonymous and not tracked for tax purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions About “Simply Giving”

Your offerings are transferred electronically from your bank or credit union account. They are deposited directly into the SVL account. As a result, your contributions cannot be lost, stolen, forgotten or mis-counted.
Yes. We have several specific funds set up in the system. Some examples include: General Fund, WELS Missions, Tuition Assistance, and RMLHS. You can specify exactly how much money you want to donate to each fund, and you can change those selections at any time.
Yes! Many people enjoy earning rewards points for donations made with their debit or credit cards. However, please be aware that SVL gets charged a transaction fee (typically about 3%) for debit and credit card donations. Perhaps you can consider increasing your donation slightly when giving with a credit card to cover these charges. All major credit cards are accepted.
You may have funds transferred from checking, savings, debit, or credit card accounts. Once you authorize the transfer, your specified contribution is electronically transferred from the designated account to SVL's bank account.

SVL will include your automatic gifts on your contribution statements for tax purposes. Also, your bank statement gives you a list of electronic transfers.
Yes. Hundreds of churches, schools and non-profit organizations utilize SimplyGiving® for their online donations. Closer to home, our very own Rocky Mountain Lutheran High School has used this exact same system for years. You can check it out by going to and clicking on "Donate Online" from the home page.
No. This program is available to anyone who wishes to make a donation to Shepherd of the Valley.
There are no fees charged to individuals making donations. For savings and checking account donations, SVL pays a small transaction fee, which costs less than we pay for processing paper checks. However, SVL gets charged an additional transaction fee (typically about 3%) for debit and credit card donations. Debit and credit card donations are welcome and many people enjoy earning rewards points on their credit cards when donating in this way. But please be aware that approximately 3% of your donation will go to the credit card processing company. Perhaps you can consider increasing your donation slightly when giving with a credit card to cover these charges.
Yes. You can suspend, change or stop withdrawals any time you like. You simply log into the website and make the changes yourself. Any changes you make are effective immediately.
You may always give during a worship service even if you are participating in SimplyGiving®. Also there are SimplyGiving® cards in the pew racks stating “My offering is automatically sent by my bank to SVL”. Take a card and drop it into the offering plate as it is passed as a symbol of your gratitude to God and of your support of his church’s ministries.
You can cancel your authorization at any time by simply logging in to the website and discontinuing your donations. Any cancellations take place immediately.
Since your contribution is made on a pre-established date each month, you simply record it in your check register on the appropriate date. All contributions will be clearly listed on the monthly checking or savings account statement you receive from your financial institution.
As often as you like. Typically, donors give weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly. However, the frequency of your donations is completely up to you. Additionally, with the SimplyGiving program, you can log into the website at any time to change your donation amounts, frequency of donations, make special one-time donations, or stop your donations altogether. With SimplyGiving online, you are in complete control. If the donation date falls on a weekend or holiday, the funds will be withdrawn on the next business day.
